Support for Mine Action

In 2019, the Kingdom of Cambodia received US$25.5 million in international assistance for mine action from nine donors; representing an increase in funding of $11.1 million (or 77%) from 2018.

The largest contribution was from Japan ($10.7million) to support clearance and victim assistance activities, with two additional countries—the United Kingdom and the United States—providing a combined total of $11.2 million.[1]

Additionally, Cambodia reported contributing $250,000 to the victim assistance department of its mine action authority in 2019.[2]

In the five-year period from 2015–2019, international contributions to mine action in Cambodia totaled more than $113 million. Cambodia’s national mine action strategy had estimated that more than $175 million would be needed for activities in 2015–2019.[4]
