Support for Mine Action

In 2014, the Republic of Finland contributed €6,000,000 (US$7,978,200)[1] in mine action funding. As in previous years, the largest contribution in 2014 went to Afghanistan (€1,525,000/$2,027,793), with two additional states—Cambodia and Angola—receiving the equivalent of more than $1 million each. In addition to global support, Finland provided support to five states and the ICRC.

Finland allocated more than half of its mine action support in 2014 for clearance activities, while 10% went to victim assistance and 13% to capacity-building.[3] The remaining 18% was provided to UNMAS and the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) for core funding.

In 2010–2014, Finland’s contribution for mine action totaled €27.7 million (almost $37 million), with an annual contribution averaging just more than €5.5 million ($7.4 million).
