Chile
Support for Mine Action
In 2014, the government of the Republic of Chile provided CLP2.8 billion (US$4,877,271) to the National Demining Commission (Comisión Nacional de Desminado, CNAD).[1] In 2013, Chile contributed CLP2.7 billion ($5,494,113).[2]
Chile is one of the few states that completely fund their own mine action program. Chile has not received international support since 2007.
Since 2010, the government of Chile has provided more than US$25 million toward its mine clearance operations. In its Article 5 deadline extension request, submitted in 2011, Chile estimated it would provide approximately $60 million through 2020 in order to complete the clearance of all known mined areas.[3]
