Diana Carolina Prado Mosquera
Diana Carolina Prado Mosquera (she/her) joined the ICBL-CMC in 2019 and leads the advocacy and campaigns work, additionally she coordinates the universalization work on the Convention on Cluster Munitions. Previously, Diana worked at ILGA World in Geneva leading the work on the Universal Periodic Review, Human Rights Council, and Sustainable Development Goals and developed strategies, activities, campaigns and advocacy among others, including the creation and renewal of a Special Procedure at the United Nations. She has worked on the United Nations and Inter-American human rights mechanisms nationally with the Colombian government and on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law in Colombia, Uruguay and Switzerland. Diana has ample experience working and negotiating on bilateral and multilateral affairs.
While working at the Colombian government she supported the process that during the armed conflict lead to the comprehensive Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law public policy in Colombia. She has written on the principles of equality and non-discrimination, women victims of sexual violence in armed conflicts, and also authored a toolkit and a research on trends at the Universal Periodic Review. Her work has focused on international campaigning, drafting policy papers, training of people in human rights field, international advocacy at the UN Human Rights Council, diplomatic and political affairs.
Diana holds a Law degree with emphasis in International Public Law from the Universidad del Rosario, Colombia and a master’s degree in Human Rights from the Universidad Pontificia Catolica del Peru.
